Kansas Shooting: One dead and 21 injured near Super Bowl parade

One person has lost his life, and around 21 people have been seriously injured in a shooting that happened in Missouri during the Super Bowl victory parade. 

On Wednesday, one person was brutally killed, and 21 got badly wounded, including kids, in the shooting that happened outside Union Station in Kansas City. The event was held for the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl win.  

In a conference, the local police informed that they had arrested three suspects/people in connection to the shooting. Stacey Grave, Chief of Kansas City Police, said that around 22 people were struck by gunfire- one among them is dead, and the police arrested three and are in custody for interrogation. 

The police department has already deployed more than 800 police officers at the crime scene to monitor the parade. The Chief of police said that they immediately responded to the culprits after the gunshots broke out, and the special detectives who were at the crime scene instantly opened an investigation on the matter. In the meantime, the fire brigade also came into action and provided aid to the injured ones.

The injured persons are transported to the nearest hospital; as per the official reports, the most critical cases are transferred to the hospital within 10 minutes of the shooting at the KC parade. 

According to chief nursing officer Stephanie Meyer, nine kids aged around 6 to 15 years with the bullet wound are sent to Children’s Mercy Hospital.

She also said, “I have seen the fear of death in the eyes of those little souls; they came with fear in their hearts to us.”

The local hospital also stated that they are treating people who somehow managed to save themselves from gunshots. 

However, the names of the victims are still hidden from the media. They also have not shared the information of any suspects who were arrested, especially those who were caught red-handed. Police also exclaimed, “We are still not aware of the motive behind the shooting.”

As per the law enforcement source, there is a possibility that the shooting happened due to an argument between two groups, which later turned into violence. They also cleared that the shooting does not have any terrison-related link.
